Should I bother with eye cream?

For ages I thought of eye cream as another faff, another way to get people to buy more things. Like when you see people using 5 different products to get the same result as just using one or two, but you can tell they’re doing it for the up sell.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s that with skin care it can sometimes do you could to buy in to – at least a few of – the products people are recommending. It started with my obsession with Pixi products, leading me to buying a couple of oils, the sleep mask and the infamous Glow Tonic. I noticed a huge improvement in the texture of my skin, so I finally decided that if I like serums and different products for night and day, maybe, just maybe, it was time to give eye creams a go again.

Now me and eye creams don’t really get along. I’ve always found they don’t really seem to make much of a difference in how that area looks or how my makeup applies. I can hear the screams of skin care enthusiasts right now. But no need to worry, the Embryolisse Eye Smoothing Contour Care* has changed me.

I really enjoy Embryolisse products anyway, so I was excited when they reached out and asked if I’d like to give this one a go. I’ve been using this every day for the past three weeks and while I can’t really comment on how well it gets rid of eye bags because I don’t have any, it has made it much easier when I’m putting makeup around my eyes.

The cream is fairly thick, but when you apply it it sinks is really quickly – I’m guessing thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid – so you’re good to go with makeup almost immediately after. This stuff actually arrived two days after I had my wisdom teeth out, and it was a life saver when I wasn’t sleeping so I could at least try to fake looking well rested.

I’ve also caught my Mum sneaking this into her makeup bag so it isn’t just me that’s obsessed at the moment.

The Embryolisse Smoothing Contour Care* is £24.99 for 15ml.
