Today I was rocking some leopard print and I was thinking – what better to go with leopard print than a classic red lipstick? Red is my go to colour when I fancy something other than nude lips but this time I thought I’d mix it up with some orange with the lovely My Beautiful Rocket Opaque Lipstick from Lime Crime!
I chose My Beautiful Rocket because it’s a really flattering orange shade. When I bought it originally I was a bit worried how it would look in contrast to my hair with it being red, but it’s proving to be a big hit! It looks great with blue/green eyes too because it makes them really stand out. As with all Lime Crime Lipsticks it’s a lipstick/lipstain so it stays put for a long time. My Beautiful Rocket also goes on really evenly too looking opaque with pretty much the first application.
Wearing My Beautiful Rocket On The Bus!
I left the rest of my makeup pretty neutral, just with a bit of pink blusher and winged eyeliner – a very simple, quick day look when you want a splash of colour on the go!

The lovely people at Sugarpill included a sample of their Chromalust Loose Pigment in Goldilux with my recent order. I’ve been meaning to try it out for ages in an eye look, so I thought I’d go for the classic combination of purple and gold using all Sugarpill products – Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette and Sugarpill Chromalust Loose Pigment in Goldilux.
When I went to Illamasqua the other day, the assistant popped a card in with my stuff. Usually I don’t even look at them, because most of the time it’s something I don’t need/want. But she told me this was a tutorial for an eye look so I thought I’d give it a try.
Sophie I Promo (from illamasqua.com)
Now there’s a bit of a story behind the SOPHIE-I. Illamasqua support The Sophie Lancaster Foundation – a charity that was founded to stamp out intolerance and discrimination, and change preconceptions that surround subcultures. Illamasqua is all about expressing yourself and daring to be different, so I think supporting this charity fits right into this.
It’s looking a bit cold outside today! It snowed overnight so I’m inside keeping warm and thought I’d bring you this shimmering fiery look using Dragon Scales Magic Dust to keep you warm too! I’m certainly feeling it on a day like this.
You’ll only need 4 things for this look – Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper (as always!), Lime Crime Magic Dust in Dragon Scales, MAC Eyeshadow in Mulch and MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee. I’m not using any blacks to contour the eye because I think they would look to harsh for the look I’m going for, I’m just wanting to add a bit of gentle shading to the outer ‘V’ and lash line.
I was in the mood for experimenting the other day, so I came up with this very subtle gold look! I usually just go for a neutral smokey eye then black eyeliner to finish, play it safe, but I thought I best make use of all the make up I’ve acquired over Christmas. I picked a product at random to base the look on, so here it is, my eye look based on Nymph!
Nymph by Lime Crime is a loose powder eyeshadow, it’s very easy to layer and blend to achieve the look you want. It’s a creamy ivory colour with a gold shine to it – lovely on it’s own or with other colours. I decided to use different gold tones to make this eye look, but with Nymph as the main colour all over the lid and towards the brow bone.
I’ve decided to do a few looks based on my favourites that are going to be big for SS12. The first I’ve picked is a very glamourous 1950’s look with classic red lips and winged black eyeliner, as seen at Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior. It’s so feminine and is very wearable compared to some of the other looks!
