Here’s the third instalment of my Spring/Summer 2012 tutorials! This look is really versatile – it can go from a perfect day look to something you could wear out with a splash of bright lipstick. For you ladies who like your winged eyeliner this is definitely a look for you!
It’s also very simple like the contoured look I did previously, so it’s great if you’re in a hurry. The slick of eyeliner in the outer corner of the lid gives the appearance of fuller lashes whilst the minimal makeup in the rest of the face gives it a really clean and fresh feel – just what you want in a spring look.
I love Deborah Lippmann nail varnishes, sadly I still don’t own any! But I saw a lovely manicure on Facebook the other day done by her team at the Badgley Mischka Autumn 2012 show. I know it’s a jumping the gun a bit, but it’s still cold here in England and the design cheered me up and took me right back to Christmas! Here’s the actual Deborah Lippmann design.
I wish I could offer some makeup tips on how to get the tips straight, but all I can say is just keep practising! I don’t use manicure strips as they tend to leave marks in the varnish or don’t sit flush to the nail, leaving an uneven line. Make sure you’ve got plenty of time and keep at it, you’ll get there in the end.
EDIT: Here’s the review if you’ve stumbled upon this post!
Exciting news! Lime Crime released their Chinadoll Palette yesterday and I managed to get my hands on one

It contains five high pigment, outrageously bright eyeshadows in a gorgeous purple and gold tin. Look out for a review coming up or even better sign up to email updates so you don’t miss a thing!
I’m also going to be doing a tutorial based around this palette so I’d love to hear your suggestions for a look – which colours you’d like to see me use the most, or what kind of look you guys would like to see!
So finally here’s another Spring/Summer makeup tutorial following on from Retro Glamour! This is a more wearable look for daytime, simply using contouring to enhance what you’ve already got. It’s a very quick look too so you can use it as a go to look for everyday.
Edit: There’s a better photo of this look at the end of this post! It showed up better on my iPhone
All this week has been Winter Varsity at university and I’ve been getting into the spirit with some black and gold nails! Showing my support in a beauty related way. I used Chanel Le Vernis in Peridot for the gold colour and Nails Inc Nail Varnish in Black Taxi for the tips.
Classic combo of black and gold!
A very simple yet effective look! Tomorrow I will be doing a contouring/skin sketching tutorial, so keep an eye out
Bored, sat at home like lots of people on Valentines Day, I thought I’d do a look to cheer us all up! It’s very simple and very girly – hope you enjoy it!
I just prepped my eyelid with a primer, then patted white eyeshadow all over the lid blending towards the brow bone. Next around the crease I used Love+ by Sugarpill Cosmetics blending it into the white to give it a more pinky appearance. To add more depth I used a tiny bit of Poison Plum by Sugarpill Cosmetics in the crease too.
Complete eye look close up!
Close up of the finished look
I just lined the eye with Illamasqua Eyeliner Cake in Mislead and Sealing Gel to finish it off.
For my lips I used a tiny bit of Centrifuschia lipstick by Lime Crime with some Vaseline on top.
Face: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation 07, Illamasqua Cream Blush in Promise, The Body Shop Bronzer 01.
