Unexpected Illamasqua Treats!

So I’ve just got back from doing some shopping, for makeup of course, and I got a lovely surprise when I went to get some bits from Illamasqua! I’m not sure if it’s at all stores or concessions but with every 2 items you buy you get a free nail varnish! It’s well worth it as usually nail varnishes are priced at £13.50.

There are 4 or 5 to choose from depending on the stock they’ve got left. I chose Wink (a lovely lilac) and Unnatural (a rich burgundy red). I’ll be reviewing one of them later tonight so keep your eyes peeled!

I’m also going to do a tutorial/review of the medium pencils and skin sketching technique that Illamasqua have developed, which is also tipped to be big for Spring/Summer 2012 – lots of contouring around!

Here’s a little look at what I came away with.

As always, thanks for reading! :) ox.

Lime Crime Lipgloss, Lipstick and Eyeshadow Reviews!

Hello! Today’s post is going to be quite long because I’ve just got my Lime Crime order and it’s got me so excited I had to review it straight away!

I’ve been interested in makeup from America for a while now – there’s so many different colours and products that aren’t available here in the UK! Even some MAC products and lines are only available in the US. It makes me so sad sometimes because the colours seem to be much more out there and eye catching!

Recently some brands have caught my eye, one of these is Lime Crime. So many beauty blogs were saying how great their products were, especially the Eyeshadow Helper and Opaque Lipsticks. Obviously I couldn’t resist, which cash-strapped student doesn’t need more makeup? I got them off a UK based site and was so impressed I treated myself from some goodies off of their US shop to get the full Lime Crime experience!

Chanel Peridot Le Vernis Nail Colour Review

Hey guys, long time no post! I’ve been so busy I’ve not had time for any beauty treats. Luckily, it’s time to treat myself!

I was flicking through Elle magazine looking for some ideas for nail colours – I don’t have that many (honest!)- and saw they were recommending Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Peridot. It was just a small article about how to update your look for Spring/Summer ’12 and I thought why not? Chanel doesn’t usually disappoint me!

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick Review!

Here’s another Lime Crime review, the last for now! But there will be more …

It’s the Opaque Lipstick in Centrifuchsia - “Deep, saturated fuchsia. This shade combines lipstick and lipstain for prolonged wear.”  I’ve heard great things about these lipsticks and a girl can never have too much lipstick, right?

The colour looks really dark in the tube, but I guess that’s because it’s really concentrated. It smells amazing, like MAC lipsticks do and it looks really glossy and moisturising. The colour goes on really evenly and really opaque which is great. The lipstick doesn’t let down on the moisturising front either so your lips don’t look dry and it isn’t matte at all. The colour is a really strong, bright purply pink, I guess this depends on your skin tone too.

I really love this lipstick, and I’m glad I gave it a chance and bought it. The lipstick/stain combination really works to make the colour last too!

Also if you’re in the UK, I would recommend buying off the Lime Crime website, I bought these three products from geniecosmetics, and although the delivery is very quick, when you work out postage from the US it’s not much cheaper. Plus you miss out on the cute packaging they send your stuff in!

The Opaque Lipsticks are $16 each (about £10) and Magic Dust Eyeshadow are $14 (about £9)

Lime Crime Magic Dust And Candy Eyed Primer Review

I got some Lime Crime goodies earlier this month and I’ve finally managed to do a quick review of two of them – Magic Dust in Medusa and the Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Primer!

First off the Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Primer. It’s pretty much like a concealer, in appearance and in texture when you apply it. I’d recommend using your finger to apply it, simply because it is quite tacky and thick – but the tackiness does go away and I’m sure that’s what helps to keep your eyeshadow in place!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review!

Hola! I was so excited when this came in the post, I thought I’d review it right away.

It’s a gorgeous product from Urban Decay and is perfect if you liked the first one. If you are a fan of the primer that came with the original Naked eyeshadows, you might be a bit disappointed, with the Naked 2 kit they have replaced this with a lipgloss – but this is still great, and compliments the eyeshadow shades perfectly!
