I went on a bit of a perfume buying spree over the weekend. Some might think buying 3 perfumes in the space of 2 days a little bit OTT – looking back on it, so do I – but the Gorilla Perfume gave me something to genuinely be excited about. So I did. No regrets.
I’ll get into the packaging and all that in another post, I just needed to get this post about my favourite Gorilla Perfume out of my system.
“An antidote to boring mass-market scents and a movement to get people excited about good quality perfume”
In case you can’t already tell, I’m just in love with these perfumes. I really am. I feel like I’m cheating on my Illamasqua Freak because I’m just SO excited. Everything about them is different to your usual perfume: the little bottles, the labels and biggest of all the scents.
Hellstone isn’t your average scent, and I was told it’s not the most popular either due to it being pretty potent. Definitely my cup of tea, a scent that is strong, and you won’t find many people wearing.
Lush say, “ The scent itself hurtles mightily out of the bottle like an uncontrollable spell escaping into the air”. It’s designed to smell earthy, like tree roots and mud. I’m certainly no perfume expert, but you really do get that earthy smell from it.
Each of the Gorilla Perfumes develop differently on different people and react to the warmth of your skin. On me Hellstone turns into a really rich, almost chocolate scent. You only need the smallest dab of it too, so I can see these 7g bottles lasting me a long time.
Hellstone retails at £18.00 for 7g, with varying sizes available depending on how much you want to pay. If you’re a lover of strong fragrances, go for it. This will be a pretty unique looking, and most importantly smelling addition to any collection.
Have you tried the Gorilla Perfumes at Lush?
