Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops

Here’s a brand I don’t talk about often even though I’ve loved their products for years. I remember I bought my first bright pink lipstick from Barry M. I wore that shade to death.

I don’t actually have many products from them, but I keep an eye on their new launches. Some of their most recent ones have really caught my eye, including these Liquid Chrome Highlighters.

They’re very easy to use and are beautiful mixed into your foundation, worn underneath or applied on top. You’ve just got to be careful you don’t apply too much at once otherwise they can be difficult to blend.

Smashbox Create & Transform Eye, Lip and Face Palette

I am never this on the ball when it comes to blogging about time sensitive stuff, but here we are. I’m only a day late on this one!

This Smashbox palette* is the Boots Star Gift until 8/12 which means it’s £35 instead of £70. It’s actually four palettes in one and you can pop each of them out of this little book – i’s pretty heavy so I would not recommend it for travel – and take them with you wherever you’re going. Anyway, it’s a bargain.

The Cheek palette is already in my daily makeup bag and with the fuss that the Cover Shot Eye Palettes made over the Summer, along with my own swatches, I’m really excited to try the eyeshadows out.

Let’s take a closer look at each of the palettes you get for your thirty five quid!

First Impressions: Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Sticks

As with every makeup product I use daily, I find a foundation I like and I stick to it until my skin decides for some weird reason that they no longer get along. When Lancôme sent me their Teint Idole Stick Foundation* I wasn’t really looking for a new foundation, but I was eager to try a stick foundation because I’ve never thought of buying one for myself.

An Excessive Lip Product Combination

I’m calling this what it is because it is excessive to use a lip liner, two liquid lipsticks and a gloss to achieve this, but I love the result so much!

First I line my lips with Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in Lolita II and blend the pencil with my finger.

Then I use Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II to fill in with Ludwig right in the centre to lighten the colour a little.

You could leave it here, and some days I do, but if I want a gloss on top I’ll apply the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb right in the centre.

And there you have it, my current favourite excessive lip product combination to over line my lips and make them a slightly different shade.

Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liners

Here’s something I’ve been meaning to buy for a while – the Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liners! These have been so hyped, I’ve wanted to pick up two to match my favourite liquid lipstick shades so I can see if they’re worth it. Even though you can over line with the liquid lipsticks pretty easily, I prefer the texture and control you get with a pencil.

These are £14.50 each, which makes them quite high up there in price point. The product itself is brilliant – pigmented, creamy, they don’t drag or smudge easily – but the fact that all the lids are black bothers me. It cheapens them somehow for me. Kat Von D if you’re listening, make the lids match the rest of the pencil.
